Now remember, folks…most of these outrageous hecklers and screamers are said to be members of political factions that embrace far right wing evangelical-style religious “Christian” Family and Moral Values.
I imagine that on Sunday, one might find most of these in some mega church singing hymns of praise. I guess it is only on special occasions when they get out and get together in some political demonstration (Gun strapped to their side no doubt) and express their “Calling to “Warn Sinners” (Liberals, Progressives and Democrats) of their evil ways.
As for me and my house, we shall honor the old Real American Flag that we have known for more than many decades now. I shall continue to address any grievances I might have with the Government in the ordinary way— I will register complaint with my duly elected Representatives. I do not need a mob to back me up. I just need faith in my beloved America and that is what I have and I am proud of it.
That “Family and Moral Values” rhetoric coming forth from some on the Far Right Wing Extreme today is little more than a twisted and perverted version of something that was once Holy and sublimely Divine.
From some of the comments I have heard from adherents to the far right wing religious side of the aisle and from some of the signs I have seen them carrying, I sure hope nobody tries to convince me that any of their nastiness is the work of The Holy Spirit because anyone with any common sense at all will know better than to believe that!
Maybe some of those blind who are being led by the blind can excuse and defend this kind of shenanigan, but a normal, reasoning person cannot and, if they are possessed of any “Moral” certitude, definitely will not condone such actions.
I think it would be the darkest and deadliest and most dangerous kind of existence since the Russian Revolution in 1917. It might be the Red Army against The Blue Army and that is something that gives me absolute nightmares!
The problem with all this is that many people who support this kind of noise and confusion appear to be, on the outside anyway, common ordinary, hard-working folks with families and dreams and some sense of country. I think that a lot of these are just somehow caught up in all the continunous propaganda from the far right wing extreme and naievely go along with what is being peddled because they actually don’t know any better.
As anyone with any knowledge of History can attest, that particular group was obsessed with the “Christian Nature” of their avowed mission too.
I think some of the Off the wall Righters who “Pack” are just waiting for the proper stimulus to start shooting. If that ever happens, America will see what they are really like. I, for one, cannot see them in control of the government. They act too much like Storm Troopers for my tastes.

I am assuming that some of the more activist-minded in The Hallelujah Crowd were more than likely livid with rage at the outcome.
I am of the notion that certain of those on the far right extreme of American Politics and religion absolutely abhor the passage of this new law and will do everything in their power to get it thrown out. I think those who fight against such things feel some kind of inner “Calling” to keep America “Pure.”
But New York and at least five other states have rejected that notion and have opened the doors of Freedom even wider to certain members of at least one heretofore widely repressed and/or oppressed minority.
Good for New York!
Good for that five other states!
Some people of “Faith” are reported to be opposing these kinds of laws on the basis that America is a Christian Nation and that Christian Nations do not permit such things.
There is nothing I can find in The Founding Documents that suggest that America is somehow dedicated to the precepts of Christianity. There is a reference or two to “God,” but nothing quite as involved and set in stone as some of the right wing extremers would have us believe.
In fact, The Christian Faith—whatever that might be — (I think it is too large and too diverse to be categorized) is only the 15th fastest growing belief system on American Soil. Since the beginnings of right wing extremeist combining of religion and politics into some kind of nationalistic patriotic Pride thing, a vast number of Americans are now distancing themselves and claiming to have “No Religion At All.”
And they do not hate Liberals or anyone else.
That, in my opinion, is what “Christian” should be all about—Love.
This is not a negative development in America’s moral existence. This is a ripening of morality! This is morality coming into full bloom. It is totally immoral to keep a people repressed and oppressed. That is what The American Revolution was really about. This is something to actually wave the flag about and to shoot off fireworks in celebration about. This is an act that removes chains from souls and lets them walk into the light of normalcy without fear or shame.
Some on the far right have lodged the complaint that some of their own Republican Senators in New York ended up changing their positions and helping the legislation to get passed.
Well, I say that these Senators probably decided that it was best to serve the will of The Citizens of The United States of America than not. I am sure that to some adherents of far right religious extremism, those brave Senators will be seen as anything but Patriots.
To anyone with a smattering of Patriotism or the Spirit of Freedom, these Senators will be seen as Heroes and pathfinders. This, my friends, is truly “Originalist” thinking on the part of some of our most respected leaders.
There are others out there who contend that allowing Gay Marriage to be legal will lead to a serious division in the country. Poppycock, I say! How much more divided can America be than She is already with the far right wing’s insistence on maintaining Red States Versus Blue States?
You know what I find to be most disturbing about some of the right wing extreme attitude on this kind of issue? When I encounter them or when they seek me out to chastise me for my opinions, they always manage to innocently declare something akin to, “Well, I’ve never seen or heard anything like what you are describing.”
How convenient!
America is either free for all or free for no one!
Somebody has a dream. Someone has again seen the Promised Land. They have not yet crossed over, but they are climbing the mountain and I say “More Power To Them.”

June 29, 2011
A group of Senators being referred to by certain news agencies as “Bipartisan” have reportedly proposed a Medicare budget deficit-reduction plan that would raise the ordinary retirement age to 67 over a period of time and would also require the wealthy to pay a heftier chunk of the cost of any care their might receive under the proposal.
I am sure that is going to set well with the Republicans and the far Right Wing Extremers because, in my humble estimation, any law that would require the rich to pay “More” for their care under Medicare might probably be seen as another “Tax” to be avoided or complained about.
Some have said that the “Bipartisan” (What the Heck is that? I didn’t know there was any such thing in our government these days–where in the world did “Bipartisan” rear it’s head?) I thought it was just a matter of focusing on “Getting that President out of the White House in 2012 and refusing to agree to anything that any Liberal or Progressive or Democrat might propose. You mean to tell me that there is more to government that those considerations?
Is it possible that some of the “Party Of No” might be sensing the rising wrath of the American People against their obstructionism and have begun to fear (And rightly so, I imagine) that if they continue their hard line and pursue measures that might actually cause harm to The Middle Class or The Poor, they might stand one Hell of a good chance of getting their collective butts thrown out in the next elections?
Anyway, I guess they are talking about raising the retirement age to 67 and I am thinking that is based on the fact that people are tending to live to be a lot older now than they used to.
Can anyone say, “Actuary?”
Does it also mean that some poor old codger who has slaved his life away at some low paying job with no benefits and who can barely get out of bed in the morning because of his arthritis is going to be forced into two additional years of work?
What would be wrong with increasing the retirement age to a round number like, say 80?
I know a lot of people who are 80 (And even older) who are still able to get around perfectly well and who could most likely work at a job instead of sitting around collecting Social Security and Medicare.
Isn’t it true that Work Makes One Free?
Wouldn’t that scenario be most pleasing to The Right Wing Extreemers? Wouldn’t it just fit their ideal to a “T” to have folks on the payrolls as long as they were able to function to any degree and not have them sitting around being parasites on the honest taxpayers? Isn’t that the ideal Right Wing scenario? (Self reliance until death!).
The newspaper I was reading said that this new proposal is almost certain to face some stiff opposition.
So, what else is new?
If the new bill actually benefits anybody and causes the wealthy to have to put out a few more dollars, you can bet your bottom dollar that it will face stiff opposition—from the Right Extreme! (Where else?).
It is reported that all this finagling is supposed to save the Medicare Program upwards of $600 billion. So, what happens to the $600 billion that gets saved? I think that amount of cash could make for one whale of a whopping big tax cut for the wealthy or a real windfall in incentives for Corporations. Yeah!
As a final note, someone is said to have tacked on an out-of-pocket spending limit of $7,500 annually for the less wealthy beneficiaries of the new proposal. I am certain that $7,500 as a spending limit for out of pocket expense is quite generous. I assume also that many people out there who are going to desperately need help under this new plan might not make $7,500 a a year altogether. What about them?
It’s all so crazy.
In my opinion, the government can work it’s collective tails into the ground to try and save a few billion bucks. But I will be you, donut to a dollar, that some bright mind, up there, somewhere in Washington, will figure out some way to filch that savings for some pork barrel project or worse. Mark my words, folks!
What is your opinion?

THE PROBLEM WITH GUNS IS THE PEOPLE WHO USE THEM !

Guns do not kill people and guns do not injure people.
Before we get started, how about checking out this important little link of information here:
http://www.nowpublic.com/world/controlling-guns-should-be-unnecessary-step-toward-elimination
It is people using guns that do the damage with guns.
The guns are innocent! The guns are always innocent!
There are states now in this United States where a person can, once again, freely carry firearms into bars and restaurants and government buildings and a lot of other places where guns were previously forbidden to be carried.
The gun advocates seem to be fond of saying that more guns equal less crime.
Alright! It seems that no one is going to change the minds of the gun advocates.
So what?
The attitude of the gun advocates is not going to stop the statistics from rising.
I have been concerned lately about certain political rallies going on around the country where people who tend to prefer that yellow flag with the snake on it to the traditional starts and stripes carry their loaded firearms into the rally or the assembly.
There are some of the more disgruntled and angry citizens who purportedly have all kinds of political axes to grind and, some of which, actually advocate for a new American Civil War to solve all their perceived grievances.
I think some of these people believe, somehow, that eventually they might be physically threatened by “Liberal Jack Boots” hitting the pavement against them.
In fact, look at the following letter to the editor of an American newspaper suggesting that very paranoia:
http://www.tulsaworld.com/site/printerfriendlystory.aspx?articleid=20110206_62_G2_Having993600
It is reported that police and prosecutors and some gun owners themselves are against new laws that permit such a proliferation of these weapons in public spaces.
There must be a reason for this kind of resistance to the new “Wild West” mentality.
What in the world can suddenly be so threatening that people would want to be armed in churches and day care centers?
But these are among the places that guns can be carried legally now in some states. What is even stranger, while gun training will be a requirement of the law, the actual carrying of the permit for the gun will not be required.
You know what else? The rules for carrying a gun inside an automobile are changing too. The way I understand it, the guns in cars no longer need to be locked in a container and don’t have to be in plain sight any more either. Correct me if I am wrong.
I would certainly hate to be a policeman in today’s new gun climate and especially so if I was required to approach a strange vehicle during a traffic stop or something.
Well, this new “Liberal” gun law allowing more “Liberal” carrying of concealed guns was actually enacted into law by a predominantly Republican Legislature in the State of Ohio recently and at least one lawmaker is trying to get even more “Liberal” amendments to that law passed according to news reports I have read.
There are those people out there in Blog Land who will vehemently resist any suggestion of any kind of gun control insisting that the new laws being passed are simply a little greater freedom being passed along by the law makers.
I think, personally, that if Real Freedom is ever to be achieved in this country, we could get there by totally eliminating the Legal System altogether.
No more police, no more lawyers, no more courts and judges, no more jails or prisons and certainly no more of those repressive and restrictive “Laws” that “Government” likes to use to control the “Citizens” with.
How about that, folks? Is that a great idea of what? That is kind of what the Right Wing Extremists seem to want in their demented state, isn’t it?
Some of these “Small Government” advocates on the far Right Extreme—the very ones who ignorantly claim that small government was the intent of The Founding Fathers — ought to actually read that 8,000 word document they seem to be obsessed with these days. (The Constitution.).
If they were to read The Constitution, they will find a remarkable bit of education.
The entire first part of The Constitution concerns itself with establishing a STRONG CENTRAL GOVERNMENT and giving Congress some really powerful control over the People. (This is totally opposite to what the privy-educated are saying these days.)
You can’t have it both ways, folks! You either have to accept The Constitution the way it is written or you have to re-write it to suit yourselves.
And I get the opinion sometimes that is exactly what the Far Right Extreme in American Politics is trying to do.
That is fine!
I have owned guns myself and I thought that was pretty cool.
I used to plink at tin cans and bottles and targets with mine. I might occasionally shoot at a snake or something.
I remember, back in the 1950s, when a friend of mine got a 22-caliber bullet through his leg while we were all hunting rats on a local dump.
I also remember the night my buddy who had just gotten out of the military was playing Russian Roulette with some drunken buddies during a card game and accidentally blew his brains out. He was just 23.
I remember the summer day when I was walking down a railroad track near my home, just minding my own business, whistling as I walked.
I heard a loud report and found the right arm of my leather jacket shredded by buckshot where some idiot had fired blindly out of the surrounding woods. That was close!
I remember too that the first deceased person I ever saw was a young man laying in a casket in a funeral parlor. He was 15 years old. He had been killed in a hunting accident just outside of town. How he got hold of that gun no one ever knew—or weren’t saying.
I remember losing another friend who just happened to be on the police force of a neighboring village. It is said (But no one actually knows) that this young officer had been shot to death while sitting in his police cruiser by some unknown person with a gun and possibly some kind of ax to grind.
I visit his grave once in awhile when I return to my home town.
TO HOARD OR NOT TO HOARD?
Some individuals love to collect and maintain a fearsome arsenal of weapons that might include such tidbits as uzi sub machine guns, AK-47 assault rifles and 44-magnum pistols which are capable of smashing the engine block of an automobile or splitting small trees.
I am assuming that the avid collector with the proper contacts could, conceivably amass a cache of state-of-the art military machine guns, the likes of which are meant to be issued only to special forces.
And, of course, there is no reason to suspect that any of these “Avid” collectors have any ties with any militant and disgruntled far Right Wing Extreme political groups either, is there?
Nothing to fear.folks! Most of these “Avid” collector types are harmless as kittens even though some of the stuff they collect is designed for no other purpose than the killing of human beings.
Never mind the insignificant fact that many of the weapons these collectors own and keep are favorites of rampage killers, narcos and anyone looking to make a splash on the evening news with an impressive body count.
Like I said, I have owned guns myself…
But then, I am ex-military and have had extensive training in the care and use of these new fire-spitting metallic pets that people seem to be going gaga over these days.
I understand some of the fascination with these weapons. They aren’t called “Equalizers” for no reason.
It does bring into play the question of whether or not the solid law-abiding citizen with the weapon can actually out draw the bad guy in case it becomes necessary.
In the old days, no one had to worry about being a “Quick Draw McGraw” now did they?
Well, the law is the law and I am going to respect the law.
You know what I always say, right? I always say let the police and the courts and God and the undertakers sort out the mess.
In the meantime, my readers might find the following link interesting to read:

The Ohio Senate is set to take up HB 159 –a voter ID bill that would disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of Ohioans – today after delaying on it last week. This bill would make it harder for students, seniors, people of color and low-income Ohio voters to vote by requiring them and all voters to present an ID in order to vote.
Please call your senators now at 1-888-218-5931 and tell them you oppose HB 159 because it will disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of Ohio voters.
The voter ID bill being considered tomorrow would make it harder for students, seniors, people of color and low-income Ohio voters to vote by requiring them—and all voters—to present an ID in order to vote.
This partisan power-grab is so bad that even Republican Secretary of State Jon Husted is speaking out against it. Over the weekend, Husted told the Columbus Dispatch that “I would rather have no bill than one with a rigid photo identification provision that does little to protect against fraud and excludes legally registered voters’ ballots from counting.”
Call your senator at 1-888-218-5931 and tell him or her you oppose HB 159 because it will disenfranchise nearly 900,000 Ohioans.
Your action on this issue has gotten us this far but we need to keep the heat on our senators. Even if you called last week, please call your senator again at 1-888-218-5931. Together we can stand up for a fair, efficient and accessible voting system and stop our Gov. Kasich and his political allies from pushing detrimental policies for their own political gain.
