How Deep Will "Super Committee" Cut?

Opinion by John Liming

Am I hearing this right or am I going out of my mind?

Have some Democrats on the so-called “Super Committee” actually proposed hundreds of billions of dollars in cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid in some kind of concession effort to try and draw Republicans to do likewise?

That is what is being claimed in my communication from The AFL/CIO Union  News Blog today.

If that is true then I am aghast at the Democrats pursuing this line of thinking because as everybody knows—when one is dealing with Conservatives and concessions are made, there are always endless other concessions demanded. That is the way I perceive it, anyway, being the rank amateur that I am in all things political.  (But I do have some experience with the Conservative lack-of-intellect.)

I simply cannot believe or even imagine that some of our own Democrats can be naive enough to think that the only way out of this fabricated financial crises is to make deep cuts to  middle class benefits.  To me that is irresponsible. I am of the opinion that the Middle Class and the Poor and Elderly of America have already given enough of their blood, sweat and tears so that the rich can get even richer.

I think I am beginning to get a clear vision of why the Occupy Wall Street People are out there!  I think they have had enough of this kind of government stuck up their noses and taking what little they have away and giving it to the fat cats– they have just gotten justifiably angry and are trying to send a message to those who rule this fair land of ours.  I think it is purely disgusting that America has allowed the rich to do all the taking and the rest of us to do all the real belt tightening!

I cannot tolerate the thought that our own Democrats up there on that “Committee” might have suffered a tactical failure in dealing with the greed mongers.  If it is true, then I am going to have a hard time placing all the blame for this mess on the Republicans.
(Unless I get the idea that some of the Republicans are manipulating things to work out this way for some perceived benefit to them. And, in my opinion that is entirely possible.)

I hear a lot of rhetoric from my own Liberals and Democrats about how “No cuts at all are acceptable” when discussing this “Super Committee.”

 I agree!

 None are acceptable!

What I want to know is who is actually going to do something to stop this madness and what do they plan to do about it? Talk is cheap and demands and screaming can accomplish only so much.

We need leadership to stand up and tell the other side “You have put the screws to the American working classes long enough! No more! In this regard and only in this regard, it is high time for Liberals to start being the party of “No” on some of these critical issues!
I am a Democrat and a Liberal, but I swear by all that is Holy– If the Democrats on that Super Committee allow our Social Safety Net Programs to be cut, I will sincerely consider voting Independent in 2012!

I hope I can calm down and that all this isn’t just something the Right Wing has fabricated to get me upset.  I wouldn’t put it past some of them.

I know that somehow, God will speak to the Democrats up there in that mess and let them know The American People will not tolerate being robbed any further because of some obstinate obstructionists who want nothing more than to line their pockets some more.

Am I over reacting here?  Is any of this nightmare really transpiring? I cannot believe that we have come this far only to receive the royal shaft in so dreadful a manner as this.

Read this and weep:

Then…get on those telephones, blackberries, I-Pads, Computers and typewriters and let your representatives know that this is really too much to bear!

Occupy People Are Nowhere Near Nazis!

Opinion by John Liming

I have heard enough accusations from too many of The Far Right Wing Conservatives in this country that the Occupy Wall Street are Nazis and Communists and all sorts of filthy and foul things and I am going to actually sit here at this computer and tell whoever wants to listen what Nazis really are (Were) and let them make their own decisions.
Before I get started on that, however, let me mention that many of the same people who are uttering these utterly non-sensical and hypocritical remarks about The Occupy Wall Street People are supposed to be “Christians” of some kind and are supposed to be operating on a higher spiritual plane than to simply assume that these folks out there in the streets are some kind of vermin or something.

So, as far as certain Presidential Candidates go and some of the so-called news channels (Noise Channels) go, I am pretty sure they are trying to stir up public prejudice for some reason when they should be trying to find out what the Occupiers really are about.

These Occupy Wall Street People  are not simple street “Rabble.”  These are unemployed folks, and professional people and ex-military people.  These are medical and dental people, some state representatives, ex-cops, ex-Marines, all levels of ethnicity– and, folks, do not forget that the movement has spread around the globe now.  It is not just an “American” thing now.  It is world wide.  That, in my way of thinking is one Hell of a lot of “Communists and Hippies and Nazis!”

So exactly what is a Nazi anyway?  I think we should take a close look at what a Nazi really is so we can make the proper comparisons if we are going to occupy ourselves with senseless mud-slinging.

Nazis tend to be ultra nationalistic and have a superiority complex. Nazi ideology was totally obsessed with the “Exceptionalism” of its country. In the mind of the Nazis, their country and their citizens were absolutely superior to all others.

If you take a close look at that ugly thing that calls itself “Christian Conservatism” in The United States today, what do you notice about it?

In my opinion, the Far Right Wing “Christian” Conservatives in America have been on an ultra-nationalistic kick for a long time now, waving their Bibles and Flags at every opportunity and playing the “God Bless America” card for all it’s worth.

The so-called”Tea Party” with their hate rhetoric and their signs calling for armed insurrection and revolution were absolutely hyper-nationalistic at their fiery little rallies. Does this begin to get a little scary to you?  Are there some similarities emerging here that we don’t really dare  to imagine?  Are there horrors hidden in the belly of some political failures and malcontents (Usually found on the lunatic fringes of The Far Right Extreme)  that might rise to the surface and unleash something dreadful  from truly evil dark and Satanic realms?

Am I totally bonkers or have I actually heard certain of the more fanatic Far Right Wingers in America preaching about the absolute  ”Exceptionalism” of the country?   Isn’t “American Exceptionalism” kind of a buzz phrase with some of these power- mad religious idiots today that wear the badge of “Christian” on their holier-than-thou Conservative sleeves? Are the people who use this term about our beloved country just blind to what it might portend or do they actually have some idea in their minds about bringing some form of Theocratical tyranny to us all?

Don’t get me wrong here folks!  I know there is nothing more horrific and evil than the actions of the actual Nazis. I would be the very last person on earth to make comparisons between those horrible people and anyone on The Far Right Conservative side of American Politics.

Having said that, I just thought it would be good to turn the tales a little bit on the unthinking idiots who open their mouths and say such things. I don’t know if they are serious when they speak this way or if they are just uneducated dolts who don’t have a clue as to what they are saying.
I do understand their attitude a little though because statistically, I believe that many of them are among the least educated and most easily influenced people in our country.

I do not expect to hear any Conservative fruit cakes say “Seig Heil” or to see them jack booting in a parade but I do know that I am sick and tired of hearing them tell other people who may disagree with them that they are unamerican or traitors or Nazis!  In America it is a Right to be able to criticize the government openly and to take the Conservatives to task for their often myth-informed ways.

I want to point out to everyone who reads this that disagreeing with something a political party stands for or that a politician might have said or that might have become Law of The Land, does not constitute blasphemy!  It is an American Right!

The final point for this article is this: My religion is all about God and Jesus and Salvation and Brotherly Love.  My religion does not wave the Flag or try to jam the Bible up other people’s rear ends.  I have known for a long time that when someone comes smiling, waving the flag and spewing the Bible, tyranny cannot be far behind.

Let’s watch how we use the word, “Nazi” to describe people just because they might disagree with you.  That use of this foul word is totally inappropriate, totally disgusting, totally demeaning and can quickly reveal the serious lack of intellect in any conservative who chooses to use it.

And to any of my Liberal friends who might be tempted to call some conservative by this absolutely unacceptable tag word, let me say this: “It serves no positive purpose to lower ones’ self to their level.” We owe it to ourselves to act like Liberals and Democrats and not to adopt the buzzwords and phrases of losers.

Do Conservatives Fear End Of Capitalism?

Opinion by John Liming

According to a lot of Conservatives and Republicans the Occupy Wall Street people are nothing but a disorderly gang of law breakers and malcontents who have nothing worthwhile to say.

I am sure there are many among the high minded and heady “Christian” Conservative ranks who look at the plight of suffering humanity as some kind of inconvenience.

Some of the over-fed Conservative types and their Far Right Wing Extremest cohorts and compatriots see the Occupy Wall Street people as unwashed, filthy, dirty, despicable, communist, hippie, Nazi, trashy, scummy–all the things they have proven themselves to be and now wish to project onto others.

In my opinion people who live in glass houses should not throw rocks!

I hear the words of some of The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy as they label the victims of their thievery and crookedness, their conniving and manipulating, their ambition and greed–their willingness to scuttle America for a dollar.

I hear them complaining because some of their victims have found the courage to stand in  public places and display their pitiable plight to the world at large.

In my opinion, the reason many Conservatives and some of their Republican clones are making such hateful remarks about the Wall Street Occupiers is because they are afraid that the rest of the World might see and listen to the cries for help and actually come to understand that it is The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy who are responsible for the terrible conditions that created this sea of hungering, desperate and needy humanity.

I have heard some of the try-to-thinkers from the Right Side say that the Occupiers are stupid and unable to appreciate the consequences of what they are asking for. By the same token, I think that some of The Far Right Wing obstructionists are just as stupid (Probably more so) and certainly have no idea of the damage they are doing with their arrogant oppositions to reason and common sense.

I ask, “What are the consequences of asking the power structure to do something to create jobs at home here in America instead of shipping all the jobs to foreign markets?”

I ask, “What are the consequences of putting the brakes on greed in high places that siphon off the last hope of making a living for the great masses of ordinary non-wealthy American Citizens?”

The Conservative pig farm loves to think of Unions as a collection of thugs.  May I remind some of these dolts that it is American Unions who made this country the most productive on the face of the earth?

In a real reversal of responsibility, I hear some of the Conservatives claiming that the Occupiers are doing nothing but trampling on the rights of other people with their requests for help.

How is it that in almost every situation that requires compassion or action to help someone, a lot of folks in  the Conservative crowd get the idea that their victims are trampling on their rights by asking for someone to do something about corruption and government inaction?

Really folks, one cannot argue with pig-headedness!

I guess the Far Right Wing Conservative Extremest idiots are going to have to run straight into a train to wake them up to the absolute evil of what they have done to a great segment of the American population.

But, maybe the train will run into them instead! (One can hope!)

We have a situation developing here in America that doesn’t appear to be all that much different, in many ways, from one that developed in Russia in 1917.

Our situation is not as desperate as the one in Russia was, but it is my feeling that if the Republicans and Conservatives keep on finding ways to make life difficult for the less wealthy citizens, there might be Hell to pay eventually.

When working people who once had jobs are reduced to living on unemployment compensation and then that compensation runs out and food becomes scarce and their taxes never decrease and the disparity between them and the more privileged grows wider, there may be some dangerous seeds sown in the social compact.

And when the obstructionist  Conservatives and Republicans in high places–the very ones whose obstructionism has caused a cut off of help for the desperate– start talking like Marie Antoinette (“The loss of jobs for police and teachers is not the problem of the Federal Government) (Let Them Eat Cup Cakes)–the foundations are being laid for a potential confrontation between the unstoppable force and the immovable object.  The end of that might be anything but funny!

It seems to me like a lot of the Republican Law Makers  have actually been running things by obstructionism since the elections of 2010.  They seem to have been forcing political outcomes by sheer obstinate refusal to offer anything constructive and by standing in the way of anything helpful.  This amounts to some kind of autocratic intervention and it has damaged America and it has caused pain to thousands of our Citizens.

I am of the opinion that those Republicans might be doing themselves more harm than good with their present course of action because it doesn’t take all that much to see the results of their actions—the creation of a new class of hungering and desperate poor.  And don’t think for a minute that the world isn’t watching.

There has to be real reforms in people’s lifestyles and it has to happen soon. The bubble is growing and how long it be before it bursts and showers the Republicans and Conservatives whose actions have caused all this with the wrath of the oppressed? What kind of credibility can the Republicans maintain with the masses when they promise “Jobs, Jobs, Jobs” and then do everything possible to prevent that promise from materializing?

Sooner or later the Republicans and the Conservatives are going to have to come to the realization that they must make other people happy besides their rich friends and corporate cronies.

I fear that if they don’t come to this realization, the nation will slide into the despair of another Great Depression and the Republicans will simply become a non-factor and disappear from politics entirely in the wake of a new political party that might rise up and actually do something constructive for a change.

One can hope, anyway!
