Republicans and Conservatives alike seem to be fond of screaming about how Americans are living in a progressively “Socialist” Society.


There are a few idiots who seem to spend most of their days sitting at their computers looking up “Socialist” conspiracy theories and sending them to “Undisclosed” lists of recipients and invariably what they send out is something that is about as anti-government as it can be.


Well, I have a couple of thoughts for the “America Is Becoming A “Socialist” State a-wads.


How about Federally-Mandated “Free Public Education?”


If Mandated Education is not “Communist” then I cannot imagine what is!


In a country like America, how dare anyone actually force a kid to go to school?


In America, shouldn’t the toothless wonders  be able to raise their kids as stupid as they please? (They already have a good start as far as I can tell, so why not make it legal and completely dismantle The Public School System and allow the already mindless to educate their kids into the same general stupidity?


Anyway, wouldn’t kids be better off if they were allowed to work in factories and coal mines and as janitors?


I have read accounts of where Conservatives have actually complained that causing the Corporations to lose “Child Labor” by the passage of laws forbidding it was “Communist” because it was seen as government interfering with the ability of Free Enterprise to operate freely.


While we are on this subject, how about the oppressive laws that force people who drive automobiles to get licenses to drive?


Wouldn’t it be far more like Freedom to just let anyone who wants to get behind a wheel feel totally free to do so?


If I were a Conservative (Wash my mouth out with lye soap) I think I would want just anyone who wishes to drive an automobile to just be able to get into one and take off.  I wouldn’t really care whether they were qualified or not.


Income and Sales Taxes?  Totally Communist in my humble opinion. (Snark!)


Of course I agree that we need taxes!


You can’t operate a country the size of The United States without taxes for crying out loud!


But there are probably some Conservatives who feel strongly that a worker should be entitled to keep every single cent earned and that the government has no business “Stealing” from workers in order to give to those who refuse (Or cannot find a job) to work.


I sometimes wonder what some of these self-appointed political armchair geniuses are smoking.


In point of fact, folks, why is there a government at all?


Why is there a bunch of people in Washington who think they have a right to tell the rest of us how to live and to dictate what we can do and what we cannot do?


I think some Conservatives would feel justified in totally dismantling the government altogether and allowing a sort of “States Rights” Anarchy to prevail. I know a few dunder brains who think that way.


Of course, if this happened, the country would be “Governed” by The Bible, Right? I wonder which Bible Thumping Radical Conservative would have enough money and influence to be able to get themselves appointed as the Supreme Spiritual Leader of the New America?


There are a lot of people out there who mistakenly think that our elected officials are always and forever attacking the Constitution of The United States or that they are governing outside the bounds of this revered document.


I am talking about people here who most likely just barely squeaked by High School and who, for the most part, probably still can’t read the English Language at any higher level than say, the fourth grade.  All of a sudden these cob knockers have decided they are Constitutional Lawyers and they put on their ridiculous tricorn hats and their tight little silk trousers and start waving the Flag and the Bible and wanting to “Take America Back” to more Constitutional times.


It is all too laughable for me!


It would be laughable, that is, if it weren’t so patently ridiculous— and maybe even dangerous for the Republic.


Has anyone but me noticed lately just how many dissidents and mal-contents have appeared on the American Scene— mostly from the disgruntled Far Right?


They have often placed their faith and trust in the New Order Religion of Radical Conservatism and they have gotten their rear ends burned as a result of it and they know nothing better than to blame “The System,” “The Democrats” or that “Socialist” President who many of them cannot even believe is an American.


Has anyone but me ever noticed that whenever the Conservatives get their hands on the reins of American Governance, the country seems to more or less go to Heck in a hand basket until they are ousted in the next election that restores Liberals, Progressives and Democrats to their historical role as leaders, movers and shakers?


Has anyone but me ever noticed how many who live in the dark pit of Radical Conservatism live in a state of constant denial about how impotent their ideology is?


They never stop trying, though!


Like the old style Communists of the 1950s and before, they just seem to keep on boring from within in the what appears to be the hope of one day displacing the legitimacy of Liberalism forever and taking full control of every facet of American Life forever.


I think  it is our money that says “In God We Trust.”


It is a good thing that we can place the care of our nation into the capable hands of God in a spirit of Trust because as I have discovered, no one can trust the Conservative ideology to do anything  but serve the ambitions of the rich.


And, oh by the way…The American Government isn’t even close to being “Socialist.”
