Do We Really Need Health Care?

I don’t want to get a reputation as a trouble maker, but I would like to ask The Republicans a few questions about what it is they will be offering as an alternative if they are successful in getting Obamacare declared as unconstitutional.

For example, how do The Republicans plan to provide for the millions of Americans who are now completely without any kind of health insurance coverage, many of whom do not have the financial means to purchase any?

How do The Republicans plan to address the issue of that “Donut Hole” in Medicare where when millions of elderly on fixed incomes reach it, they either have to break their pills in half to make them last longer or they simply forgo buying their medicine at all because they cannot afford it?

Many insurance plans place a lifetime limit on benefits that will be paid for anything at all.  Once that lifetime limit has been reached, that’s it! Once that lifetime limit for medical care is reached you might as well not have the policy at all.  The plan that I was on had a lifetime limit of one million dollars.

If I had encountered a truly complicated medical condition that required lots of surgeries or really extended expensive treatments, it would not have been difficult to use that lifetime limit up in a relatively short time.

Obamacare addressed this issue of lifetime limits so that people would not have to worry about it.

What are the Republicans offering to replace this protection against lifetime limits on insurance policy payouts?

The Affordable Health Care Act provides protection against those insurers who have been reported to suddenly and sometimes with little or no warning actually simply cancel the policies of some people who become ill  and need the coverage.

What will become of the millions of children from low income families who will suddenly have no health care insurance if The Republicans are successful in their fight against Obamacare?

I have heard that one of the Republican plans will actually slash Medicaid and other essential services for low income people by as much as 45 per cent.

I am sure this will cause exponential problems for the millions who depend on these vital systems as well.

But surely God’s Own Party is making some really Christian provision for meeting the needs of those who stand a chance of being denied health care if Republicans win their fight!

Right?
