SEEMINGLY ENDLESS INVESTIGATIONS GO ON AND ON AND ON!

John R. Liming

My Opinion

First I heard hours and hours of argument and back and forth about three “Conspiracies” that are supposed to have something to do with some kind of alleged wrong-doing at the White House – - or somewhere else in the administration – - – things that I have personally considered to be little more than Right Wing witch hunts looking for something to make the president look bad with.

Well – - if what I have been hearing and reading is true, a lot of that “conspiracy” crap is already falling apart and in at least one instance it was revealed by what I consider to be a reputable source that one report fed to a major news outlet about these scandals was based on doctored e-mails that some Ree-thugs were supposed to have doctored. Way to go Reeee-pugs! Got’cha on that one, didn’t they?

O.K., I think I can understand why some of the GOP is so intent on seemingly endless investigations into all kinds of negative allegations about the government right now – - – I think they are doing it to take attention off some of the stuff that was done from 2000 to 2008 – - – stuff that was never challenged publicly or which never saw very much investigation if they saw any at all – - stuff surrounding Weapons of Mass Destruction and stuff about two questionable wars – - and stuff concerning vote counting in Florida – - and stuff about outing a CIA agent - – - and at least 20 things that could have been labeled as conspiracies during that tumultuous period of American History.

If some are not inclined to look at things as I have just described them then there might be another possibility for why all the investigations are going on right now: Didn’t some mighty powerful GOP-ers stand up at the beginning of the President’s first term and more or less indicate they were going to do everything in their power to make sure he never got elected for a second term? Does anybody except me remember any of that boast?

Well – - it didn’t work out for “Them” did it? He got the second term anyway!

So what would be the next logical step in the process of making sure nothing the President wants to get done gets done? First would be total obstructionism – - and I think we have already seen how that works, haven’t we?

I think the second thing would be to try to find things – - anything at all – - that might indicate there is something “flawed” about either the way the President does business or how some of the agencies under his supervision do their jobs – - does this make sense?

I’ll tell you what I think!

I think the President made one Helluva mistake when he first took office and did nothing to open investigations into some of the doings of the administration that preceded him.

I think the present administration is making one helluva big mistake by not returning fire and starting as many investigations into whatever allegations they can find that might be revealing about their current adversaries on The Hill. I think we need to be seeing a little bit of “What is good for the goose is good for the gander” going on in Washington – - but I am not seeing it!

Here is something I thought was interesting about one individual’s taking of the Fifth Amendment in regard to testimony in one of these GOP-inspired investigation things – - the one that concerns itself with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) – -

John R. Liming

My Opinion

THE ABC NEWS BENGHAZI “EXCLUSIVE”

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas for The White House since it was reportedly discovered an ABC News Exclusive Report purportedly showing how the White House and State Department people allegedly edited some e-mails concerning the Benghazi Tragedy – - – a major television media report that originally appeared to give credence to claims of conspiracy on the part of the White House and State Departments – - – something that was looking for a while like a real “plum” for the Right Wing Radicals – - – turned out to be more or less allegedly some kind of “adjusted” information that had been provided to the poor unknowing innocent major News Media Outlet by some ostensibly “Imaginative” or “Creative” – - – Reeeeee-pugs!

So – - what else is new?

As I was reading through a few of the Far-To-The-Right “Obama Hating” blogs that I love to drop in on from time to time – - – I was getting visions of how some of the masters of pejorative ridiculousness who think of themselves as serious blog journalists but who are – - in my opinion – - nothing more than mere “wonk” bloggers – - the same as me but with a more asinine twist – - must have been decorating the tips of their wispy little moustaches with the little bowl of liquefied horse manure they keep around because they like the smell of (Insert synonym for fecal matter here ) so much – - while trying to make their deadened brains work so as to enhance this damnable slams they seem to love to indulge in against their favorite political target (Foe) – - The sitting African-American President of The United States.

It occurred to me that the allegedly erroneous news report from ABC must have played directly into their grubby little knob-knurled fists and they must have danced a real jig over it!

Others now seem to have noticed and have started to air their concerns and have been requesting the great old much-trusted American news resource to – - – correct – - – the reports – - – and I guess – - according to what I have been reading – - some of those folks are still waiting. Read about that mess HERE!

THE SO-CALLED “PERFECT SCANDAL STORM”

Some intransigent morons who wear the decaying mantle of contemporary crap-laden American Far Right Radical Extreme so-called “Conservatism” – - a true misnomer in my opinion – - seem to be loving the fact that “Obummer” looks like he might be entangled in a whole bunch of nasty little scandals – - but what is not being said too much in too many circles is that a lot of the “scandal” bullshit is stuff that has been drummed up or fabricated by – - you guessed it – - Righties with what I think is a pressing and increasingly desperate need to enhance their libidinous predispositions - – and what better drawer warmers than some concocted pieces of garbage?

That is the kind of stuff I have found appeals to those who choose to dwell in the virtuality of intellectual landfills – - It is my opinion that some great number of them might be feces mongers because I believe that is a substance most nearly resembling that which I believe composes much of their gray matter and many of them seem to me to be most comfortable in the presence of such substances.

But then I am somewhat eccentric so my analyses may be subject to some further review as they pass from hand to hand. I admit it! I am an opinionated son of a bitch!

Anyways Mommies and Daddies and Kiddies of all ages – - it looks like a lot of the “scandals” are now unraveling and making some of the Radical Righties look like what I have always thought they look like – - total fools and assholes! Read More and rejoice with me ( HERE )!

HEALTH CARE COSTS OUT OF SIGHT FOR AVERAGE AMERICANS!

did anyone ever think that the cost of going to the doctor or to the hospital might get to the point where it is more than the cost to put food on the table for a whole damned year?

Well it seems that some people have started to take a close look at this American tragedy – - and of course – - I have been saying all along that something has to be done about it – - and my interest has been on The President’s “Affordable Health Care Act” – - also known as “Obamacare” as probably the best contemporary idea that might address the dilemma.

You might want to read the report about the rising costs of medical care in The United States (HERE ) and you might want to take a fresh look at the Obamacare thing and what it can do for people ( HERE )!

WILL THE RIGHT WING DESTROY ITSELF EVENTUALLY?

I don’t know whether the Right Wing per se will ever implode completely although there is some indication that the thing that has become known to many as “The GOP” might be moving a little bit in that direction – - at least I get the idea that is the thought – - the vision – - the impression – - the possibility being entertained by at least a few political observers these days.

There are some people who apparently are asking themselves the question, “Can a political entity such as GOP sink any lower into the muck and mire than it already has with all the obstructionism, the consistent losses at the polls, the endless filibustering, the relentless refusal to consider bills proposed by the President and all the colorful little things that have been going on around them in the past few years?” Of course if that is the way some folks look at the GOP then I suppose they are entitled to their opinion – - I just happen to share it. Others may not share it. Others might simply be – - either benefactors of it or victims of it – - depending on circumstances.

I personally hope the GOP can find itself and return to the days when it can work across aisles and do the seemingly impossible tasks of sitting down with Dems and hammering out helpful legislations that propelled this great nation forward like was the case many years ago – - back in the mist-shrouded times when Old Order Moderates dominated the GOP landscape and things could actually get done in Washington – - things where not everyone always got everything they wanted but things that actually were of benefit to the majority of The American People.

You might want to dip into this little goodie a little more ( HERE )!

ONE OF MY MAIN BITCHES WITH EVANGELICAL-STYLE RELIGION!

I have always thought that most of the Ree-Pug-Lickins and Right Wingers I have ever known were more or less either involved directly with some kind of what I consider to be an Hysteric” Evangelical-Style religion or at least supported this sort of tom-foolery to one degree or another – - to enough of a degree to help formulate their political outlooks and to drive them to what I think of as the insanity of modern American Contemporary Far Right Wing Radical Extremism in the name of what I once thought – - from the time that I was a small child – - was a high and noble calling – -”Conservatism.”

When I read stuff like I just got through reading over on another website I have a deeper and clearer understanding of my own disenchantment with these kinds of spiritualized shenanigans and I come out of the experience less religious and more truly “Christian” than ever. Read More ( HERE )!

Enough for now, I reckon!

Respectfully yours,

John

Category: American Economy

Fracking Was Supposed To Be Our Ticket Away From Dependence On Foreign Commodities, Right?

John R. Liming

My Opinion

When “they” came up with the arguments in favor of state lotteries, I heard a lot of propaganda about how good state lotteries and their proceeds were going to be for our - – - schools! Remember that old line of bull droppings?

How long did it take for the lottery proceeds to get diverted to the states’ general funds leaving just a trickle for the – - schools?

I guess the voters who swallowed that one hook, line and sinker got the old shaft-er-oo – - as usual!

Recently I was hearing all the arguments about how good “Fracking” the shale rocks under people’s back yards and in the public parks – - and literally everywhere – - to get at the oil and gas trapped – - “down there a few thousand feet” – - was going to be for the Economy and how it would cause the price of natural gas and gasoline and oil products to go through the basement – - thus fulfilling the best wet dreams of some of the most avid car, truck, bus, train and plane owners on the planet.

Big Oil and Big Gas really pushed the be-jeebies out of that enticing little tid bit of propaganda didn’t they?

Well – - I don’t really think anyone has proven that some of those “earthquakes” in fracking areas are really related to firing water at nearly hypersonic speeds into underlying rock structures and the argument is still being made that the drinking water will not be affected because the fracking takes place at such enormous depths – - supposedly below the level of all consumable water – - so there should be no problem there, right?

I mean injecting tons of God Only Knows what kind of chemicals into the soil – - along with the fracking water – - isn’t going to have any kind of negative effect on anything at all – - now or ever, right?

Well let us assume for the moment that this form of extracting the oil and gas pose no immediate hazard to man, animal or the planet – - as I think most or all of the allied industries engaged in this activity would like for us to believe.

Then – - in my book, we come to the concept that fracking the living Hell out of every available inch of America is going to present some prime opportunities for car owners to get cheap gas and oil and for the unemployed to get great-paying jobs, right?

That will be at least nominally true – - in my opinion – - until someone gets the bright idea that a lot more money can be made be exporting the fracked gas and oil to foreign markets where gas that costs as little as $3.00 a measurable unit here can go for as much as $10 – - over there.

Is there anyone within the range of the sound of my keyboard who actually believes that Big Money will be more concerned with convenience to Americans at home than with a few billion dollars more in profits that can be gained by exporting the products?

If I am not totally mistaken there ought to be a lot of Rightie greed mongers and moguls and financiers and bankers and lenders and distributors and producers – - you name it – - who are looking at the profit potentials of jamming it to the American Consumer in favor of what can be gained – - over there – - – and looking it over with an – - eagle eye glued to a billion-power microscope of possibility – - right?

Well, be all that as it may – - whether it be conjecture or potential – - and let us proceed to an underlying point that I think should be made on behalf of all the Right Wingers who have sacrificed so much to help the middle class and the working class and the poor out here in The Good Old U. S. of A: ”Snark” with a capital “S!”

How about we pay attention to the “Small Gubmint” freaks and actually reduce the size of The Fed down to the nearest nothing that we can manage and still get our drawers washed in a nearby body of non-frackable water – - if there be such a creature.

Let’s reduce The Fed down to an infinitesimal fraction of its present size – - down to the point where it becomes libidinous stimulation for some of the Radical Right-Wads in Extreme Nut Land – - – and after that perhaps Big Utilities and Frackers of all kinds – - from every corner of the globe – - can descend on this Promised Land of Instant and Profitable Gratification for the haves who have it all already – - – and who cannot rest until they have it all – - – and no one else has anything – - The Frackers can come freely and without restraint or regulation and frack the f*** out of every frackable inch of the country – - – Let them go ahead and poison the water, destroy the natural beauty – - turn people’s back yards into cess pools of stinking filthy ooze – - who cares about the health of property owners?

There’s money to be made here folks – - lots of money – - money to pay wages for cheap labor imported into the frack areas from other states and other countries perhaps – - I will guess that few if any locals will ever be hired at this kind of project – - but I could be very wrong about that – - – I am not always right about everything – - besides this is not a “fact” blog – - this is an “Opinion” blog – - remember?

I hope the Rightie Troll Butts will remember that – - but I doubt it – - I don’t think many of them can remember much of anything except how to twist things and bitch and moan about stuff so I am sure that some of them will find something in this post to jump me about – - so up theirs is all I can say!

Let’s do all this “Gubmint Reducing” in the name of Free Enterprise and The Global Markets and let us see how much it reduces our dependence on foreign oil and gas.

Let’s see how much all this “Free Enterprise” is going to benefit the American Consumer at the gas pumps or at the gas meter behind the house that might soon be afloat in a sea of stinking frack mire.

These are what I consider to be some of the best Right Wing ideas ever – - and I simply cannot wait to see how they pan out for Mr. and Mrs. Average – - not rich – - 47% American!

Hey! Hey! Whadda ya say?

John Liming – - -

My Opinion – - -

I knew this one elderly guy once who always ranted and raved about how he would never take a dime of “that there Obummer Care – - or any other type of Gubmint handout.”

As he got older and less able to get around, he started depending on friends and neighbors to ferry him to the grocery and to doctor appointments and wherever he needed to go because he couldn’t see well enough to drive any more.

The friends and neighbors apparently got their fill of it because the next thing I knew “Mr. Independent Republican Tea Party Type” was on Social Security and Medicare and getting some kind of aid from the state to help him and his wife live in a senior facility of some kind where there were plenty of other people to “lend a hand when needed.”

This guy was like a lot of people I have known in my lifetime – - They desperately need their Social Security and Medicare – - and Medicaid – - and Food Stamps – - and what other “Gubmint Handouts” they can get their hands on just so they can make ends meet – - – but in what I think is far too many cases – - - they continue to vote for Republicans and to hate the Democrats who originated these life-saving programs in the first place.

I have never figured this out but it sure doesn’t make a lot of people look too awfully bright in my estimation.

I hope everyone who reads “American Liberal Times” has also discovered the following site:

OP-ED by John – -

THE OLD SPAM FOLDER – -

I have never opened a piece of e-mail that has been automatically marked “spam” for as long as I have owned my computer.

Someone mentioned to me once that these things can often contain all kinds of nasty crap – - – things like viruses that can foul up my computer.

After paying nearly $2,000 for my machine, I am not about to do anything that might harm my “pet” here.

Besides – - – from the surface most of this crap looks like nothing more or less than some kind of schemes purporting to teach people how to make money.

I have seen enough money-making scams in my life and I do not really want to see more ways to spend my hard-earned cash and make nobody any richer than the idiots selling the schemes – - – and in my experience that is how these things have worked most of the time.

So screw the spam! I just delete it all without ever reading it!

THE SPLIT SCREEN FEATURE

I cannot tell you how many pieces of paper I wasted and how much ink I used – - expensive as Hell ink I might add – - trying to make copies of internet articles that I wanted to comment on – - before I got smart and learned how to use the “Split Screen” feature on Chrome and Firefox.

Now I can bring something up on the left side of my computer monitor and I can put the visual editor for my blog onto the right side and go ahead and type up my blog entry without ever having to turn the printer on or to make a copy of anything! Sweet!

PREACHERS SAY GODLESSNESS CAUSED TORNADOES IN OKLAHOMA!

According to a report on the website “Addicting Info” famed TV Evangelist Pat Robertson is said to have mentioned that if enough people had prayed to God, the storms might not have happened because as he has been quoted as saying, “Jesus stilled the storm – - you can still the storms.”

In the same article – - it is also reported that Westboro Baptist Church Pastor Fred Phelps had his own ideas of what caused the devastating storms that swept Oklahoma – - did you guess that his idea may have been that the storms were caused by – - homosexuals! Check all of what I view as the ”Reee-ligious insanity” out HERE. Halley – friggin’ – loo – yuh, Brother!

REPUBLICANISM ON THE DECLINE IN AMERICA?

I don’t know if I could hear better news!

In yet another “Addicting Info” article it is being reported that Rethugs are now being seen in unfavorable light by as many as 50% of all Americans – - and like I said – - “That is very welcome news to me!”

I had read that President Obama’s job approval rating had been on the up despite all the phoney-assed scandals Righties were trying to fart out their noses to make him look bad – - but it never occurred to me that Americans might be getting tired enough of their bullshit to start turning off on them – - I think it is hilarious and I think it is something that is long past due! Read more about that wonderful little development HERE!

SENATOR WHO OPPOSED RELIEF FOR VICTIMS OF HURRICANE SANDY IS NOW ASKING FOR RELIEF FOR VICTIMS IN HIS OWN STATE OF OKLAHOMA!

Is there such a thing as irony?

It is being reported that Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) voted against providing relief to the victims of Hurricane Sandy – - but now that devastation has visited his own home state – - things are suddenly a lot “different” and he is reportedly seeking aid and assistance for victims of the Moore, Oklahoma disaster of a few days ago.

Is it just me or is it always the case that when the shoe is on somebody else’s foot it is just too damned bad and some Righties want them to fend for themselves in emergencies but when the crap hits the fan in their own jurisdictions – - that is dramatically different. Is that just the way I have been reading things or is that the way with a lot of “them?” Read more about this development HERE!

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN RETHUGS AND DEMS

It hasn’t been all that long since I posted an item I found on another site telling me some of the main differences between Democrats – - The Compassionate – - and Cob-Serv-A-Thugs – - The Greedy – - and since some of the air-for-brains Righties decided to take this information to task on their – - for want of a better description – - “blogs”, I thought it kind of bears repeating here – - maybe it deserves to be printed and hung on the refrigerator door – - or something like that. It is found HERE!

COULD THE PRESIDENT HANDLE A ‘REAL’ SCANDAL?

I guess this might be some kind of admission by some Rethugs that the “Scandals” we have been reading about lately might not have been “Real” scandals at all? Would that surprise anyone? It sure as Hell wouldn’t surprise me. Read More HERE!

I guess that is about all I have for the moment – - 5:47 am – - but I am sure other stuff will surface as the day moves forward and the minute anything I think is good for the blog surfaces, I will be more than happy to pass it along to the sanest among us – - my Valued Democrat, Progressive, Liberal, Independent Readers who grace my blog with their presence for a few moments every day – - making me feel like I am worth something – - Thanks to you all!

Dare I mention that “I love my Readers” – - or is that as little over the top for a political opinion blog?

Respectfully yours,

John
